Split
Split is Croatia's second-largest city and offers visitors cultural, culinary and natural delights, including spectacular Diocletian's Palace, which dates back to 305 A.D. The Palace is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and within its walls guests will find majestic monuments, churches and buildings. Split is also known for being a large seaport, and many cruises and sail excursions dock in the city. The city also offers several fairs, festivals and activities throughout the year, including the famous Split Summer, a festival that showcases Croatian culture through theatre, opera and musical performances.
